Freelance Visual Arts Trail Producer: Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture

Transforming Youth Culture in Wolverhampton Through Art

About the Role

Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture is seeking an experienced Arts Producer specialising in the public realm to lead the Visual Arts Trail as part of a £1million+ three-year programme co-founded by Arts Council England and local partners.

The successful candidate will commission, co-produce, and oversee the installation of nine visual artworks across Wolverhampton’s city centre over three years, engaging youth groups in a co-creation process alongside other cultural and educational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The Freelance Visual Arts Trail Producer will be responsible for:

  • Commissioning and collaborating with artists to develop site-specific works in partnership with local youth groups, ensuring inclusive co-creation from concept to final installation.
  • Identifying and engaging with youth organisations to co-design artworks, with ongoing support from the Programme Manager.
  • Managing artist delivery by ensuring works are completed on time, on budget, and meet installation requirements (including logistical planning and risk assessments).
  • Securing permissions for public realm installations, liaising with Wolverhampton City Council, building owners, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth placements.
  • Overseeing installations in collaboration with site partners, including technical logistics and compliance.
  • Working with the Digital Arts Trail Producer to integrate the commissioned artworks into an interactive digital platform, enhancing public engagement.
  • Maintaining documentation for reporting to Arts Council England and enabling Wolverhampton University’s impact evaluation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
