CAMHS Administrator - Team Leader
Leadership & Administrative Team Manager
Role: Temporary Base (Pan-Dorset) – Evolving with Service Growth
About the Role
The leadership role for Weymouth & Portland and West C-CAMHS admin teams seeks to:
- Optimise process efficiency and workload prioritisation
- Maintain consistent communication and provide line management support
- Oversee administrative services during a period of service expansion
- Support clinicians, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure clinical governance standards are met

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
- Ensure consistent communication and streamlined administration across Weymouth & Portland and West CAMHS
- Evolve alongside service growth, balancing existing support while adapting to new structures and flexible working models (including extended hours when needed)
- Liaise with trusts, partners, and the public—including managing distressed interactions with empathy

Direct Ancillary Support
- Produce clinical letters, meeting minutes, and patient appointment schedules
- Coordinate service delivery, appointments, and timely information returns to meet targets

Team Management & Governance
- Serving as line manager for administrative team members
- Uphold child safeguarding policies, data protection, and NHS confidentiality protocols
- Efficiently integrate admin processes with clinical governance (e.g., audits, customer feedback, compliance)

Stakeholder Liaison
- Work with NHS & non-NHS partners, including:
- Parents, carers, and vulnerable individuals
- Local Dorset HealthCare departments (e.g., Children & Young People’s Directorate)

Requirements & Expectations

Qualifications & Experience
- Proven administrative, team leadership, or clinical support background (ideally in CAMHS or NHS mental health)
- Direct experience managing hybrid/homeworking teams
- Ability to interpret clinical policies and apply them pragmatically

Certifications
- Enhanced DBS check (trust will fund the process). A DBS Update Service subscription may suffice.

- Candidates must hold a valid right to work—no visa sponsorship available.

Soft Skills
- "People person"—balanced with strategic delegator (impressive in triage-heavy roles)
- Measured emotional intelligence for hard conversations (e.g., key performance metrics or developmental discussions)
