Main duties of the job
About The Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join our Liaison and Intensive Support Team (LIST). You will work with children and young people presenting with moderate to severe and complex mental health difficulties, delivering intensive interventions within community and acute settings.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver high-quality, timely mental health assessments for children and young people in crisis.
- Provide short-term, intensive interventions to stabilise mental health and reduce risk.
- Develop and implement evidence-based, person-centred care plans.
- Work flexibly across community, home, and acute environments, including liaison with acute hospitals where required.
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including Consultant Psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, OT and wider services.
- Support safe and effective transitions between services, including inpatient care and community pathways.
- Coordinate care and work proactively with partner agencies (e.g. social care, education, paediatrics) to reduce escalation and prevent unnecessary admissions.

- Substantial CAMHS experience, particularly in crisis or high-risk presentations.
- Confidence in assessing and managing moderate to severe mental health needs, including risk management.
- Strong skills in delivering brief, intensive, and evidence-based interventions.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Professional Qualification at Diploma or Degree level in Mental Health Nursing-registered on NMC Register or relevant qualification in social work.
Desirable criteria
- Additional qualification in relation to CAMHS
- Non medical prescribing
Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable post basic experience in Mental Health.
- Good written skills.
- Excellent understanding of the therapeutic relationship and boundaries
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in the community
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Excellent knowledge of MHA, the MHA Bill and MCA
- Excellent knowledge of prescribed medical treatments
- Excellent knowledge & experience of assessment and risk assessment tools.
Other
Essential criteria
- Willingness to travel to different locations to undertake role effectively
