Main Purpose & Responsibilities

As a Senior Campaign Operations Executive at Kainos, you’ll be the hands-on builder of our campaign engine, translating campaign briefs into well-built, measured Marketo programmes that launch on time, on brief, and on budget.

You’ll join the Marketing Operations team, serving as the operational backbone for the BU Marketing Team, working closely alongside the Campaign Operations Consultant to deliver consistent campaign execution across:

  • Marketo
  • MS Dynamics
  • Demandbase

You’ll support BAU campaign delivery, deputise for the consultant when needed, and act as a go-to expert for other Workday Product marketers on campaign standards, reporting, and best practices.


Key Responsibilities

Campaign Build & Marketo Execution

  • Own end-to-end Marketo campaign development, including:
    • Programme builds
    • Emails
    • Landing pages
    • Forms
    • Smart lists
    • Tokens
    • Nurture flows
    • Triggered campaigns
  • Conduct robust QA to ensure campaigns are:
    • Tested
    • Deliverable
    • On-brand
    • Function as briefed before launch

Marketo Flows & Automation

  • Design and build Marketo smart campaigns, engagement programmes, and operational flows that:
    • Scale repeatable campaign templates (welcome journeys, nurture streams, re-engagement, event follow-ups, lead routing)
  • Continuously seek ways to template and automate work to improve efficiency while maintaining quality

Consistent Campaign Standards

  • Champion campaign hygiene, enforcing:
    • UTM tagging
    • Campaign naming conventions
    • Folder structures
    • CRM programme/channel mapping
    • List and segmentation hygiene
    • Lead source attribution
  • Document standards, embed them in templates, coach peers, and review live campaigns to maintain high-quality reporting

Tactical CRM & Reporting

  • Support Marketo campaign reporting for live campaigns, tracking:
    • Campaign member status
    • Lead flow
    • Conversion rates
    • Channel performance
    • Pacing against targets
  • Build and maintain Marketo reports to:
    • Identify early issues (e.g., drop-offs, sync failures, attribution gaps)
    • Connect campaign performance to pipeline contribution
    • Provide insights for campaign optimisation
    • Deliver on-brand output on time and within budget

Demandbase-Enabled Campaign Optimisation

  • Use Demandbase to analyse Marketo campaigns, leveraging:
    • Intent data
    • ABM performance insights
  • Proactively recommend targeting, segmentation, and follow-up improvements
  • Build familiarity with Demandbase and support colleagues

Supporting the Consultant & Team

  • Assist the Campaign Operations Consultant with:
    • Larger initiatives (e.g., Rising)
    • Ownership of clearly-scoped workstreams
    • Peer review of marketers’ campaign builds
  • Contribute to the campaign knowledge base
  • Lead enablement sessions on Marketo & CRM best practices
  • Streamline inbound lead handling as needed

Collaborative Working

  • Actively support Workday Product Marketing Operations in meeting OKRs
  • Build strong cross-function relationships with BU Marketing Teams
  • Role-model the standards you enforce

Requirements

Minimum (Essential)

  • Solid experience in marketing operations or digital marketing, with hands-on expertise in marketing automation
  • Demonstratable Marketo program building experience, including:
    • Smart campaigns
    • Landing pages
    • Forms
    • Nurture flows
  • Attention to detail with a track record of:
    • High build quality
    • QA discipline
    • Right-first-time delivery
  • Strong understanding of CRM (ideally MS Dynamics)
  • CIM qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach peers on best practices

Desirable

  • Marketo Certified Associate (or equivalent hands-on experience and willingness to certify)
  • Experience with AI/agents in campaign automation
  • In-depth knowledge of lead generation best practice in a SaaS environment
  • Confidence in setting and enforcing campaign standards (UTM tagging, naming conventions, list hygiene, channel mapping)
