Campus Management Suite - Security Officer.
£13.87 per hour - full time, permanent role
Role Overview
The post-holder will be part of a dedicated team who will be responsible for the professional reception of guests and their safeguarding, security of assets within and surrounding Eastlands Campus, Manchester and ensuring the highest standard of service at all times.
To provide clear communication and operational professionalism in the fields of incident management and response within the Etihad campus.
This position is based in external areas in all Meteorological/ Environmental conditions, with some work taking place inside the control room or on specific locations throughout the campus as directed by operational requirements.
As part of this team, you are more than a Security Guard. You’ll ensure the safety of our customers, staff, their buildings and assets, whilst providing excellent customer service with a smile. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service and creating a safe and secure environment.
It’s a varied role that includes greeting staff and visitors and ensuring they adhere to the required security protocols, conducting searches where required, patrolling the premises and dealing with security incidents. With a keen eye and a brilliant way with people, you could look forward to an interesting role with exciting career opportunities, including the ability, when sufficiently trained, to work Match and Event days covering everything from small friendly games to groundbreaking concerts and events. We also take a front line approach to safeguarding issues, dealing with lost or vulnerable visitors and a whole host of incidents meaning no two days are ever quite the same. Aligning with Manchester's Nighttime safety charter we are here to make sure that everyone has a safe and secure place to enjoy the reason why they are here.
About You
You will need to be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator, who can convey and understand clear and concise information and instructions, especially during an incident, be a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service at all times, even when dealing with incidents alone. Good IT knowledge is also key for the reporting of incidents and training will be given.
You must be available to work on a set shift pattern which will include four days, four off, four nights, four off, standard shifts are 7-7, which will contain bank holidays and weekends. You should be flexible and at times, be able to adjust working hours, in line with business needs.

It would be a benefit to have security experience in either a control room environment, or as an incident/alarm response officer, being able to dynamically access an ongoing situation with the ability to think on your feet in line with the training and guidelines given.
Requirements
- You will require a SIA Door Supervisor licence as a minimum
- You will ideally hold a CCTV license (or be willing and able to work towards one within first 6 months)
- You must speak and understand English and be a confident communicator using hand held radios.
- You must be able to work outside, in all types of weather.
- Proof of use of CCTV systems including alarm and incident response in a control room environment, be it static manned guarding or Event Control room experience is ideal.
- The ability to work in dedicated small teams - 3 staff headed by a dedicated Duty Manager is key, as you and your team will form the fundamentals on site.
Ideally you will also have a Level 2 or Level 3 Spectator Safety certification, Any safeguarding training including MCC, WAVE or other providers who look after large crowds and be aware of the issues this raises.

The Campus Management Suite
The Campus Management Suite is the newest solution to 365 day cover at the Eastlands Campus. With an uptake of visitors due to the New CoOp Stadium, the task of the CMS is to make sure that everyone visiting the Campus is safe, secure and happy. Focussing on safeguarding and personnel security we are at the forefront of any on site incidents, in a brand new dedicated control room at the heart of the Campus we are looking forward to what the future brings and dealing with it when it gets here.

Recruitment Process
Due to the nature of the role, all successful applicants will be required to complete security screening and vetting checks in line with industry and legal requirements.
