About The Team

Manchester Metropolitan University Security is a professional, customer-focused service that operates with pride, integrity, and dedication 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our Security Service is made up of four teams providing round-the-clock support across the University's campuses. Each team is led by a Security Supervisor and Duty Manager, reporting to the Campus Security Operations Manager and Head of Security.

As the University's first point of response, our Security Officers play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for students, staff, and visitors. No two shifts are the same. From responding to emergencies and providing first aid, to supporting major events, investigating incidents, conducting building lock and unlock procedures, writing reports, and offering welfare support, our team makes a real difference every day.

About The Role

This is far more than a traditional security role. While security experience is welcomed, it is not essential. We are looking for people with the right attitude, excellent customer service skills, and a genuine desire to help others.

As one of the University's first responders, you will deal with a wide variety of incidents relating to safety, security, and wellbeing. You will need to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions, and demonstrate empathy and professionalism when supporting people who may be vulnerable or in distress.

At the beginning of each shift, you will receive a briefing from your Campus Security Supervisor outlining priorities, responsibilities, and your allocated patrol area. Using your initiative and judgement, you will respond to incidents, carry out patrols, and work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an outstanding service across the University.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
