Campus Support Supervisor (Security) – Liverpool John Moores University

The Campus Services directorate oversees buildings, facilities, open spaces, security, and the University fleet, with a focus on front-of-house delivery to internal and external stakeholders.


About the Role

Liverpool John Moores University is recruiting for a Campus Support Supervisor (Security) to join the Campus Support Team within Campus Services.

The team provides 24/7 security and out-of-hours services across campus areas in Liverpool. Your primary role will be to deliver visible, effective operational leadership to the security team throughout your shift, ensuring a safe, secure, and customer-focused environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising security staff and managing service standards
  • Providing operational leadership during out-of-hours periods
  • Overseeing incident management and health and safety compliance
  • Leading cross-team initiatives to maintain campus safety and service excellence
  • Working to a continental rotating 12-hour shift pattern (4 shifts on, 4 shifts off), alternating between day and night shifts
  • Holding a full UK driving licence (with a maximum of 3 penalty points) and demonstrating flexibility to meet business needs

About You

Successful candidates will have:

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience in a leadership role within customer service, front-of-house, security, or facilities management
  • A people-focused approach with strong communication and emotional intelligence
  • Confidence in leading a team, managing performance, and driving operational improvements
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and legislative compliance
  • Experience producing accurate reports for varied audiences
  • Competency using modern security systems, including:
    • CCTV
    • Access control
    • Incident reporting platforms
