Are you a registered nurse with experience in oncology and/or palliative care, working and supporting people affected by cancer?
We are recruiting home based nurses to join our team on the Macmillan Support Line and would love to hear from you!
About us
At Macmillan you'll find talented people working together to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. We're going all out to find even better ways to help even more people who need our support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions.
Our new organisational strategy sets out how we’ll fight even harder to make every pound raised count for even more. With your help, we’ll transform cancer care for good.
About the role
As a Cancer Information Nurse Specialist on the Macmillan Support Line, you will provide confidential information and support to people affected by cancer. You will empower people every day to understand their cancer diagnosis, treatments, side effects, and the impact of their cancer experience.
Working on a helpline and across omni channels (including email, webchat, digital platforms) to support people is a fundamental part of this role. You’ll be working in a busy and varied environment where demand can change rapidly throughout the day. To meet this need, we use contact centre technology and methodologies that help us respond efficiently and effectively - ensuring people affected by cancer get the support they require.
We understand that you may not have all the skills for this role, but we provide a robust induction and invest in your training to equip you with all the skills you will need to support people affected by cancer with heart, with strength, and with ambition. You will gain valuable experience from working in a growing and exciting area of clinical expertise, and in a team that is part of a multi-disciplinary service providing holistic support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
