Candidate Manager
London Waterloo | Hybrid (3 days in office)
Salary: Circa £35,000 + uncapped commission
You're a recruiter. You know how to spot great talent. But are you spending more time trying to win jobs than actually recruiting?
If you've built a career in recruitment, you probably didn't get into it because you love cold business development. You got into it because you enjoy finding exceptional people, understanding what makes them tick, and matching them with opportunities where they'll genuinely thrive.
At Joss Search, we're looking for an experienced recruiter to join us as a Candidate Manager in our London team.
About the Role
This is a recruitment role, but not as you know it.
You'll focus entirely on the candidate side of the process, partnering with our consultants to identify, engage, and manage outstanding EA and business support talent for the world's leading private equity and alternative investment firms.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- No business development.
- No chasing clients.
- No worrying about whether the next vacancy will land.
Instead, you'll be part of a business with an established client base, a strong reputation in the market, and consistent demand for exceptional candidates.
That doesn't mean the role is junior and isn't commercial. Far from it.
We're looking for someone who can:
- Think strategically about where candidates will succeed
- Identify talent before competitors do
- Build long-term relationships and talent pools
- Understand what our clients need, sometimes before they've articulated it
- Influence placement outcomes through exceptional candidate management
