Capital Asset Claims & Valuation Analyst
The Capital Asset Claims & Valuation Analyst will be responsible for independently assessing and auditing supplier cancellation and change-related claims involving capitalized assets and capital-related cost exposures. This role focuses on determining whether supplier claims are appropriately classified, authorized, supported, and contractually committed in accordance with Company policies and contractual requirements.
About the Role
As a critical player in CAPEX governance, this position will evaluate asset classification, fixed and labour cost authorisation, and contract commitment controls. The Capital Asset Claims & Valuation Analyst will interact with suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance to resolve disputed claims while supporting fact-based settlement decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting substantive testing of supplier claims with sufficient evidence to justify recommendations.
- Performing on-site verification of tooling, equipment, inventories, and other supplier-held capital assets.
- Collaborating with dealer field auditors, Chrysler Leadership Development program participants, and cross-functional teams as needed.
- Preparing detailed management reports.
- Travel up to 30% (primarily in the Midwest).

Responsibilities
- Auditing supplier claims involving capitalised assets and identifying cancellation or change-related exposures.
- Evaluating asset classification (capital vs. non-capital) and ensuring alignment with approved investment scopes.
- Assessing compliance with CAPEX governance and approval requirements, including fixed and labour cost authorisations.
- Reviewing contract commitments for consistency with purchase orders, agreements, amendments, and termination clauses.
- Conducting on-site inspections to validate the existence, condition, and status of capital assets.
- Engaging with suppliers to challenge unsupported, misclassified, or unauthorised costs.
- Documenting findings and preparing clear, data-driven audit reports for management-level decision-making.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in:
- Audit, risk management, or accounting/finance.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
- Independent judgment in high-stakes or disputed financial environments.
- Direct experience in:
- Auditing supplier claims, capital expenditures, tooling, or fixed-asset-related costs.
- Understanding CAPEX approval processes, asset classification, and cost-authorisation controls.
- Familiarity with commercial contracts and supplier commitments.
