Are you an experienced construction or estates professional looking to manage projects that make a real difference to patient care?

We are looking for a motivated Capital Project Manager to join our Estates Development and Technical Services (EDTS) team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You'll lead a varied portfolio of capital and backlog maintenance projects from initial feasibility through design, procurement, construction and handover, helping to improve healthcare environments across Berkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on projects that directly support clinical services while developing your professional expertise within an Outstanding NHS Trust. You'll collaborate with clinical teams, estates professionals, external consultants and contractors to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality healthcare facilities.

Based at St Mark's Hospital, Maidenhead, this is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). We support flexible working where service needs allow, including opportunities for hybrid working.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of capital and backlog maintenance projects from feasibility through to completion.
  • Prepare surveys, feasibility studies, cost estimates, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Produce and amend technical drawings using AutoCAD and associated design software.
  • Manage contractors, consultants and project budgets, ensuring compliance with JCT/NEC contracts.
  • Monitor construction works, quality, programme and commissioning activities.
  • Work closely with clinical users and specialist stakeholders including Infection Prevention, Fire Safety, Building Control and Authorising Engineers.
  • Ensure projects comply with statutory legislation, NHS guidance, HTMs, HBNs and Trust procedures.
  • Support the maintenance of the Trust's MiCAD estate information and occupancy systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
