Role Description
Principal Responsibilities
- Accountable for Control of Spend on stock items
- Monitoring & reporting Engineering R&R budget
- Constantly challenge stock levels
- Source best practice ways of storing items
- Continually monitor suppliers prices, service and quality to ensure best deals are obtained
- Collation & reporting services Utility data to senior managers & Finance dept.
- Gathering and statistical representation of all engineering work done.
- Team member responsible for audits & reporting to business.
- To set stock levels
- Select best supplier for spares and service, linked to Group Purchasing
- Ensure purchased items conform to legislative, moral and European directive requirements
- Embrace a culture of safe behaviour and contractors health and safety in the stores areas
- Support a culture enhancing behavioural awareness to reduce accidents and near misses
- Co-ordinate between engineering and suppliers to ensure best service is maintained at all times
- Actively challenge vendors/suppliers to minimise the effect of parked/blocked invoices.
- Challenge all spares/service requests to ascertain need
- Adhere to stock reduction plan
- Complete relevant documentation / Record data in required formats
- Reporting data to required channels including anomalies to manager
- Undertake the training of others as required
- Attendance at meetings, at various locations, as required by the Engineering Stores Manager.
- Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, safety, efficiency and waste reduction.
- Ensure systems for stores to minimise inventory levels and working capital
- Communicate daily with Engineering Management to ensure parts available for planned maintenance, engineering and production priorities.
- Liaise daily/hourly with colleagues within and across function regarding planning/production matters.

General Responsibilities
- Understand and take an active role in lean manufacturing work practices including 5S, AM and problem solving (including root cause analysis), to drive continuous improvement activity throughout the site
- You must exercise reasonable skill and care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work and you must not interfere with or obstruct anything provided in the interests of health and safety at work.
- The incumbent should demonstrate behaviours which are in line with the site values & help to improve the Quality, Safety & Environmental culture.
- Support the business in working towards delivering our ethical trading and human rights vision.
- When engaging with internal and external stakeholders (such as consumers, customers or suppliers) maximise any potential opportunities to communicate Princes’ ethical trade and human rights approach.
