Carbon & Corporate Reporting Manager - FTC
Carbon & Corporate Reporting Manager (Maternity Leave Cover – 9-Month Contract)
The Role
Our Sustainability function is seeking a carbon & corporate reporting manager to join the team for a nine-month maternity leave cover. Reporting directly to the Head of Department, this role is critical for maintaining corporate reporting compliance and supporting the annual Corporate Responsibility (CR) report.
At NEXT, we believe growth allows everyone to evolve, and we welcome applications from colleagues seeking part-time working arrangements. The reporting cycle spans September through April, including:
- Interim audit in December
- Data finalisation in March
Key Responsibilities (What You Will Take On)
- Manage and ensure accurate, timely data for:
- ARA (Annual Responsibility Assignment)
- CR report
- External filings
- Guide two direct reports while collaborating with wider departments
- Coordinate and submit requirements to auditors and external consultants within deadlines
- Partner externally to maintain systems for carbon monitoring and analysis
- Assist Total Platform Partners (e.g., FatFace, Joules, Reiss) with carbon reporting needs
- Work with the Responsible Sourcing team to develop the Scope 3 carbon reduction roadmap, advising on data collection and measurement
- Monitor evolving environmental and regulatory standards, including:
- ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme)
- SECR (Streamlined Energy & Carbon Report)
- TNFD (Task Force on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures)

Requirements (What You Will Bring)
To succeed, you should have:
- Extensive experience in carbon reporting for large-scale international organisations
- A deep understanding of reporting frameworks, including:
- TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures)
- GHG Protocol
- SECR
- Attention to critical detail
- Willingness to travel ad hoc to site locations
