Cardiac Physiologist
Job Title: Cardiac Physiologist (Lead Role in Device Implantation & Follow-up)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist with expertise in ILR (Implantable Loop Recorder), Bradycardia Pacemaker Implants and Follow-Up, including VVI(R), DDD(R), to work independently within our Catheter Lab and Device Clinics.
The post holder will contribute to:
- Device implants ( pattes *(sic) VVI(R), DDD(R) programming)
- ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator), CRT-P (Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy-Pacing), and CRT-D (Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy-Defibrillation) procedures
- Heart Angiography, Primary PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)
- Remote monitoring, Holter device analysis, and non-invasive cardiac procedures
The role requires competency in high-standard work aligned with BHRS (British Heart Rhythm Society) and IBHRE (International Bundle of Honours in Rhythm Electrophysiology) guidelines, as well as departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of cardiac device implantation (ILR, CRT-P/D, ICD, pacemakers) with technical accuracy
- Conduct independent device programming sessions in clinics
- Lead autonomously in the Cardiac Catheter Lab, ensuring safe execution of device-based and angiographic procedures
- Analyse remote monitoring data and Holter tests
- Execute non-invasive cardiac assessments to an excellent standard
Key Requirements & Skills
- Proven expertise in:
- ILR implants & follow-ups
- Bradycardia pacing (VVI(R), DDD(R))
- ICD, CRT-P/D implantation & post-procedural monitoring
- Independence & precision in high-volume lab environments
- Advanced understanding of NHS standards, BHRS/IBHRE protocols, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) principles
- Strong clinical technical skills, including data analysis (remote monitoring/Holter analysis)
