About the Role

At East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust Cardiology Services, we want our staff to wake up inspired to come to work, valued when at work, and fulfilled when leaving at the end of the day.

Come and join us on an exciting journey of modern development, enthusiastically embracing physiology-led services, facing challenges with originality, and building a team that's committed to supporting you and your career.

We are looking for a band 3 cardiac physiology associate to work across Trust sites in Eastbourne, Hastings, and Bexhill. You will join our physiology associate team fitting cardiac monitors for heart rhythm and blood pressure, performing ECGs, assisting the cardiac physiologists in exercise testing, and analyzing 24-hour ECG Holter recordings. There is also a small commitment to assisting the Respiratory team with spirometry and FeNo testing.

Whilst this role would suit candidates with previous healthcare experience, we will consider applicants from other backgrounds with the skills and aptitude to work supporting our patients and wider Cardiology team.

Responsibilities

  • To provide delivery of physiology role in the Cardiac Catheter Lab:
    • Set up ECG and pressure monitoring, record patient and procedure data prior to, during, and post-procedure.
    • Communicate ECG and pressure changes to the operators.
    • Respond as part of the team should a cardiac arrest occur (normal physiology role in a cardiac arrest is to run the defibrillator).
    • Detach patient at the end of the case and clean the patient area and equipment ready for the next case.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
