Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and strategic guidance on healthcare startups focused on cardiology, cardiovascular care, preventive care, chronic disease management, remote patient monitoring, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, healthcare AI, and related areas.
• Support Healthcare Shares in evaluating healthcare startups, founders, business models, clinical relevance, workflow fit, scalability, patient impact, and social impact potential.
• Advise portfolio companies, venture studio projects, and healthcare entrepreneurs on cardiology workflows, physician adoption, patient care pathways, clinical validation, commercialization strategy, and go-to-market considerations when appropriate.
• Offer relevant introductions, industry insight, and subject matter expertise across cardiology, health systems, medical devices, diagnostics, remote monitoring, healthcare technology, clinical operations, and startup ecosystems.
• Participate in periodic advisory discussions and contribute practical recommendations based on your clinical experience and area of expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

• MD or DO with experience practicing cardiology.
• Board certification or board eligibility in cardiology preferred.
• Experience in cardiovascular care, preventive cardiology, heart failure, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac imaging, remote patient monitoring, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, healthcare AI, startups, investing, advisory work, or healthcare innovation preferred.
• Strong understanding of cardiology workflows, patient care pathways, physician adoption, clinical decision-making, cardiovascular risk management, and real-world barriers to healthcare technology adoption.
• Ability to commit approximately 2–4 hours per month to advisory board participation and strategic advisory activities.

Compensation & Benefits

This Cardiologist Advisor role offers the opportunity to receive carried interest in the Healthcare Shares venture capital fund. Advisors may also have opportunities to support Healthcare Shares venture studio companies and startup clients, including potential sweat equity opportunities when applicable.
