12-Month Secondment Opportunity: Administrative Support Coordinator – Cardiology Research Team
North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) and University Hospitals Bristol and Westen NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) are merging into a single organisation from July 2026. Job Overview
This 12-month internal secondment provides essential coordination support to our Cardiology research team. You will ensure high-quality secretarial services, coordinate administrative work for clinical activities, and assist with research operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Support clinical trials by managing participant contact, screening, and data collection.
- Prepare for and follow up on cardiology clinics, updating records and managing patient files.
- Respond to queries, archive documents, and maintain data integrity.
- Assist nursing staff with cardiovascular audit data collection and management.
- Attend cardiology team meetings to facilitate coordination.

Detailed Requirements
Education & Training
Essential Criteria:
- Health/therapy support qualification: e.g., City & Guilds/L3 Health & Social Care NVQ or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Numeracy & Literacy.
- IT proficiency in electronic patient records, Microsoft Word, email, and data entry.
Work Experience
Essential Criteria:
- Health/social care experience as a therapy support worker.
- Experience as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working with complex patients or high-acuity cases.
Skills & Abilities
Essential Criteria:
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
- Clear written/verbal communication with patients, medical staff, and agencies.
- Familiarity with NHS healthcare policies and audit procedures.
- Ability to problem-solve, take initiative, and work to deadlines.

Remuneration & Scale
Successful applicants commence at Band 8a unless they previously held an NHS post at the same level. Progression follows annual increment standards.
