Position Title: Cardiology Post Graduate Fellow – Multiple positions Employment Type: Temporary, Full time Classification: Post Graduate Fellow Salary: $237,047 (per annum) Location: Canberra Hospital (Garran, ACT), North Canberra Hospital (Bruce, ACT) Section: Medicine Closing Date: 1 August 2026

About the Role

Canberra Health Services (CHS) is seeking applications for Post Graduate Fellow positions for the 2027 clinical year—with multiple specialisations available:

  • Electrophysiology Fellow and Clinical Research
  • Imaging and Echocardiography
  • Interventional Cardiology

⚠ Must commence February 2027 ⚠ Eligibility Requirement: Must achieve PGY7+ status by start of term. ⚠ Application Mandatories:

CHS Overview & Cardiology Department

ACHS delivers high-quality, patient-centred care across acute, subacute, primary, and community healthcare.

Our Cardiology Department prides itself on the state-of-the-art Heart Care Centre, boasting advanced facilities including integrated Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery services, including interventional support.

With 18 consultant roles, a team of advanced trainees (including accredited/unaccredited) alongside nursing and rehabilitation staff, we serve adults across the disease acuity and care spectrum. Partnerships with cardiothoracic surgeons create seamless interventional coordination.

  • Coronary Care Unit Capacity: 28 beds
  • Outpatient Service: +5,000 annual episodes (increasing demographics)
  • Initial Commitment: One-year contract; eligibility for extension conditioning the achievement of bulge requirements.
