Complex Care Assistant – Paediatric Support Role
Company Description £15.45 per hour (held per night) Location: Redcar Shifts: Overnight (7 PM – 7 AM) A vehicle is essential for this role due to location and responsibilities.
About the Role
Join AGH, part of City & County Healthcare Group, as a Complex Care Assistant—an opportunity to combine meaningful work with career progression in a supportive, innovative environment.
Your work will bring real impact. Working with paediatric clients in Redcar, you’ll deliver skilled, compassionate care, including:
- Community support with NG/PEG feeding management
- Respiratory/respiratory equipment care (suctioning/ventilator support provisions)
Your role will include:
- Full 24-hour assistance for children with complex needs.
- Support with medication administration and daily living tasks.
- Vital equipment handling (tracheostomy suctioning).
Responsibilities
- Direct patient care: Maintain dignity and well-being of children who often face multiple health challenges.
- Specialist service: Collaborate with occupational therapists and community professionals to enable independence and personal goals.
- Consistency: Responsibilities extend across both daytime/night shifts (rotating duties) to ensure continuity of support.

Requirements
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven track record in complex care (especially paediatric).
- Practical PEG feeding, suctioning and ventilator knowledge/ability to operate safely.
- Commitment to 24/7 availability—Ability to adaptively deal with heightened responsibility at night.
