Glencorse Care Home Care Assistant – Contract Opportunity
Glencorse Care Home is a purpose-built care home in Penicuik, offering Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 54 residents. Since opening in November, it has earned an excellent reputation, ranking among the top-rated care homes in the region on Carehome.co.uk.
About the Role
As the home grows and expands, we are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join a team known for its positive atmosphere, strong teamwork, and approachable leadership. Uniquely, Glencorse fosters staff development through regular team-building activities, wellbeing initiatives, and clear progression opportunities—ensuring every team member feels valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
Contract Details
- Salary: £13.60 per hour
- Shift Options: Day and night shifts
- Shift Times: 8:00am - 8:00pm (Dayshift) and 8:00pm - 8:00am (Nightshift)
- Rota: Two-week rolling rota provided in advance to help you balance work and life effectively.
- Contracts: Full-time, part-time, and bank options available.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred daily living support, including personal care, mobility assistance, nutrition, and emotional wellbeing.
- Support residents in maintaining their dignity, independence, and quality of life as outlined in individual care plans.
- Recognise changes in residents' needs and work collaboratively with the team to deliver safe, high-quality care.
- Ensure a homely, respectful atmosphere where compassion and empathy are paramount.

Person Specifications
- Caring and compassionate approach, with genuine respect for residents' needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A reliable and positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and develop in the field.
- Previous experience in care is beneficial but not essential.
- A desirable qualification would be an SVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent, though a strong commitment to training is just as valuable.
