We are looking for caring people who live in the following areas: Castleford, Pontefract, Goole, Selby, Garforth, Kippax.
Job Description
Care Professional – One‑Hour Visits | Time to Care | Local Support | £13.50 + Mileage
Here at Home Instead, We believe care should never be rushed. That’s why every visit we deliver is a minimum of one hour, creating the time and space for genuine, person-centred relationships.

What You’ll Receive
- £13.50 per hour
- Double time on bank holidays
- 30p mileage between clients
- 12–16 hours to start (more as the rota grows)
- Every second weekend off
- Full training – no experience needed
- City & Guilds-accredited dementia training available
- Supportive, respectful local management
- Guaranteed hours available after successful probation

Your Availability
We’re looking for people who can work:
- 7am–2.30pm and 3.45pm to 9pm shifts up to 16 hours per week
- Alternate weekends (essential for this role)
- Some flexibility to support client continuity

How You’ll Make a Difference

- Companionship and meaningful conversation
- Personal care (washing, dressing, bathing)
- Light household tasks
- Medication prompts
- Meal preparation
- Attending appointments or shopping
Who We’re Looking For
You do not need care experience.

You might be ideal if you are:

- Able to use good judgement in day‑to‑day situations

- A driver with access to your own car
Important Travel Information
Our clients live across Castleford, Pontefract, Selby, and Goole and surrounding villages.
We are upfront about travel so there are no surprises later.
This role is not restricted to one neighbourhood, and some days involve driving between villages. We cluster calls where possible, but flexibility is important.
If you prefer to work only in one tight area, this position won’t be the right fit.

Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Own vehicle with appropriate insurance for business use
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Satisfactory references from previous employers or character referees
Preferred Qualifications:
- Health and Safety awareness or basic training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Physical fitness and mobility to support personal care tasks
- Willingness to undertake City & Guilds-accredited dementia training and ongoing professional development
- Reliable transport and punctuality record
- Flexibility and adaptability to support client continuity
