Care Assistant Vacancy – Shackleton Place, Devizes, Somerset
McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a Care Assistant to join the team at our Shackleton Place development in Devizes, Somerset.
About the Development
Built in 2018, Shackleton Place is a Retirement Living Plus development featuring 55 apartments designed for residents aged over 70. It offers excellent on-site facilities and is set within beautiful grounds.
Hours & Pay:
- Hourly rate: £13.70 per hour
- Earn an additional £1.30 per hour for working evenings or weekends
- 14 hours per week
About the Role
As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality personal care to enable residents to live their later life well. Your tasks will include:
- Delivering housekeeping and domestic support (including apartment cleans).
- Supporting residents to participate in a wide range of activities that promote health and wellbeing.
- Helping residents book appointments, arrange transport, and escort them on visits.
- Assisting with shopping and daily activities where needed.
- Using your people skills to make a real difference to residents' lives.

About You: Key Requirements
We are looking for a warm, friendly, and caring individual with:
- A passion for improving the wellbeing and happiness of older people.
- Ideally some experience in a care or support environment.
- A drive to deliver excellent customer service.
- An eagerness to work in Health and Social Care.
- A preference for the QCF Health & Social Care (Adults) Level 2 qualification (alternative qualifications and relevant experience will be considered).
