Part-Time Care Assistant – Night Shifts

About the Role
Rivermede Court is an 80-bed care home, delivering luxurious surroundings and the highest standard of care for our residential and dementia residents. We are seeking passionate, reliable, and caring professionals to join our team on a part-time, on-call basis to cover annual leave and sickness shifts.
Schedules* are pre-planned in advance with advance notice, ensuring flexibility for candidates who can commit when required.
Through mentorship, robust training, and career progression, we empower our team members to excel in supporting our residents while maintaining the best possible quality of life for everyone in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide essential hands-on care to residential and dementia clients, prioritising their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Assess and respond to individual needs, ensuring dignity, choice, and independence remain central to care planning.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, medication administration (when trained), and meal support.
- Supports team-led activities aimed at enhancing residents’ comfort, happiness, and engagement.
- Maintains safe, clean, and welcoming environments, particularly in night shifts.
- Collaborates within a close-knit care team, fostering a supportive and motivating work culture.
- Adheres to health and safety protocols, infection control, and statutory regulations.
- Contributes to the broader team ethos, upholding the home’s reputation for excellence.

Person Specification – Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Current NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)—or a demonstrable willingness and commitment to attain this.
- Experience in care delivery for adult populations, particularly with any involvement in dementia care (preferred but not mandatory).
- Committed to upholding compassionate, personality-centred care.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong team-building mindset with self-motivation and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Proactive, adaptable, and flexible to varying shift demands, including night duties.
- Ability to organise priorities while remaining composed under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, emphasising dignity, patience, and empathy.
- Physically and mentally capable of performing duties, including assisting mobility, transferring patients, and standing for extended periods.
