Job Description
Location: Lowes Hill
Do you have experience in care or are you looking for that new challenge?
We are looking for local people who are passionate about providing an outstanding level of care and going the extra mile for our residents. And we currently have a vacancy working 21 hours per week over 3 shifts.
About The Role
The ideal candidate must be flexible in working all shifts.
It might not be that you have any paid experience providing care to others, however, you may have looked after and given care to a friend or family member. It would be desirable if you have an NVQ2 or working towards it. If not, don’t worry, we can provide you with all the training that you need in our induction scheme and through our buddying scheme when you start in our home.
Working for an established care provider like Ashmere, you start your journey with us by attending our monthly new starter company induction with all new joiners from all of our homes. We will kit you out with uniform, pay for your DBS check, provide you with regular training and maybe even spoil you with cake from time to time!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
