Care Assistant – York & Selby, Home Care Alcedo Care

Key Details
- Pay rates: £14.00 – £14.50/hour plus holiday pay & pension, equivalent to £16.16 – £16.74/hour all-inclusive.
- Shift flexibility: 20–40+ hours/week, including short shifts, 12-hour days/nights, and evenings/weekends.

About the Role
As a Care Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of a client’s daily life, delivering tailored support in their own homes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care (washing, dressing, continence support).
- Help with medication management, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Promote and maintain clients’ independence with warmth and professionalism.
- Work flexibly to deliver care when needed (late evenings, weekends, short/long shifts).

No experience required – all training is provided by our award-winning in-house nursing team (recently recognised with the Princess Royal Training Award).
Requirements
- Must be 18+.
- Must hold a valid full UK driving licence and meet our driving requirements:
- Be medically fit to drive.
- Commit to vehicle checks (DFT checks, annual MOT, etc.).
- Unsupervised work with vulnerable individuals is part of the role.
