🔹 Care Assistant - Days

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By. Your role as Care Assistant is critical to ensuring residents thrive in their golden years. You’ll be the hero with a heart—turning everyday care into acts of compassion. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting residents with high-standard clinical, social, and emotional care, recognising and meeting their specific needs
  • Supporting residents with diverse requirements, from companionship to personal care, fostering independence and dignity
  • Working as part of a team to monitor residents’ well-being, reporting any changes to the nurse or senior care assistant
  • Communicating effectively with residents’, families’, friends’, and Healthcare professionals
  • Adapting care plans to ensure person-centred support tailored to each resident’s wishes

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate, responsive care to residents, prioritising their individual needs and preferences
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities to maintain independence and safety
  • Engage residents in social, recreational, and enrichment activities to enhance mental and emotional well-being
  • Report changes in residents’ health or behaviour promptly to senior colleagues
  • Support family members with updates and shared care planning (where appropriate)
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene within assigned areas
  • Collaborate with nursing teams, healthcare professionals, and occupational therapists to implement care plans

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months of recent care experience (essential for the Starter Bonus eligibility)
  • Commitment to a role with 24+ hours per week (to meet Bupa’s contractual minimum)
  • Passion for making a difference in people’s lives through compassionate care
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build genuine meaningful connections
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team environment during weekdays (day shift role)
