Make a Difference Every Day: Bank Care Assistant – Loran House Care Home
We are Prime Life, a fully regulated care provider specialising in exceptional care services. We’re looking for passionate and dedicated care professionals to join our friendly team as a Bank Care Assistant.
About the Role
Special vacancies are available across all areas of our service, with a current opening at Loran House Care Home in Hull.
About Loran House Care Home
The care home is designed to support 46 residents living with age-related, physical, and mental health conditions. Special focus includes:
- Dignified support tailored to individual needs
- A unique reablement service to enable safe transition home after hospital discharge
- Respite care to help individuals return home once rehabilitated
This role requires patience, empathy, and respect for each resident’s unique abilities.
Responsibilities
As our Bank Care Assistant, your duties will include:
- Assisting residents with:
- Personal hygiene (e.g., bathing assistance)
- Morning/night routines (dressing, bedtime routines)
- Supporting mealtimes by encouraging residents to:
- Eat and stay hydrated
- Maintain good nutrition
- Ensuring residents move safely around the home with the use of mobility aids
- Providing:
- Companionship and friendship
- Outings and accompaniment to medical/appointments/personal errands
- Maintaining accurate records as required by policy
- Engaging with:
- Health professionals, therapy teams, and multidisciplinary staff
- Resident’s families to:
- Welcome and orientate them upon arrival
- Address queries and provide updates

Requirements & Qualities
Key Attributes
- A genuine caring nature and desire to make a positive impact
- Flexibility, adaptability, and strong ability to engage with diverse age-related conditions
Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in care roles (desirable but not essential)
- Patience with withdrew, distressed, or confused behaviors (common with dementia)
- An understanding of dementia (not mandatory, although beneficial)
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards in care delivery
