Care Assistant (Day Shift) – Berkeley Lodge (Specialist Dementia Nursing Home)
Location: Worthing, West Sussex

South Coast Nursing Homes is a family-owned provider of care across East and West Sussex, delivering the highest standards of resident comfort and support – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We’re currently looking for a motivated Care Assistant to join our day shift team at Berkeley Lodge, our specialist dementia nursing home in Worthing.
Hours: Full-time (36 hours per week)
Weekly Shift Pattern:
- Week 1: Wed 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Sat 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Sun 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Week 2: Mon 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Wed 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Thu 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Fri 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
As a Care Assistant at Berkeley Lodge, you will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality personal care, including social interaction and stimulation to residents;
- Promoting independence and enabling residents to maintain their autonomy while providing necessary support;
- Ensuring personalised resident interactions are accurately recorded on the electronic system;
- Serving meals and refreshments to residents and facilitating social dining experiences to encourage engagement;
- Building strong relationships with relatives to better understand and deliver individualised care plan needs.

Requirements & Expectations
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate individual who thrives in a fast-paced care environment. Ideally, you will:
- Have experience (or strong interest) within the healthcare or dementia care sector, though [training will be provided] to ensure success;
- Be kind, warm, and positive – with a genuine desire to make a difference in residents’ lives;
- Possess high energy, strong work ethic, and a willingness to go above and beyond daily;
- Be a team player, eager to contribute to a supportive and dynamic work culture.
