Location: The Lodge, Farnham Road, South Shields, NE34 0JR
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (38.5 hours per week, including alternate weekends)

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Care Assistant at The Lodge, your role will be central to enriching the lives of our residents through:
- Personal Care & Independence:
- Support/assist residents with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and all aspects of daily living.
- Assist with physical, emotional, and spiritual care needs, ensuring residents maintain comfort and dignity.

Specialised Assistance:
- Provide tailored support for those with limited mobility or physical/learning difficulties, making efficient use of aids.
- Monitor residents who may be confused or exhibit behavioural challenges.
- Assist with promotion of continence and care for residents nearing the end of life, including sympathetic last offices.

Observation & Documentation:
- Observe care planning needs and complete accurate daily records per company policies.
- Report on residents’ well-being under supervision of senior staff.

Social Engagement & Activities:
- Participate in social frameworks to keep residents engaged.
- Assist with hobbies, activities, and encouraging meaningful participation.

Supportive & Administrative Tasks:
- Answer nurse call systems, front doors, telephones—ensuring prompt responses and clear message relay.
- Conduct scheduled well-being checks as directed.
- Ensure visitors are welcomed warmly; assist effortlessly with refreshments where needed.
- Maintain sanitation and tidiness (bed-making, waste disposal, cleaning equipment).
- Record resident participation and gather feedback for meaningful engagement.
