Care Assistant
Cedar Lodge Care Home is a well established service in Taunton, Somerset, providing specialist dementia, palliative and respite care for up to 39 residents, alongside The Limes, a dedicated mental health community supporting a further 15 individuals. Set in a peaceful location, the home offers a welcoming, supportive environment with a strong focus on personalised care, dignity and wellbeing across both services.
Care Assistant Contract
£12.71 per hour Contracted hours: 34.5 hours or 45 hours per week Pension scheme, Paid DBS, Uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract) Shift times: Days 8am – 8:15pm (3 vacancies) / Night 8pm – 8:15am (1 vacancy), including alternate weekends
Role Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will support individuals with a range of complex needs, including advanced dementia, mental health conditions and other long term health challenges. Your role is to provide safe, consistent and person centred care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow individual care plans and support structured routines, helping to create a calm, stable and supportive environment. You will build positive relationships with residents, understanding their needs and responding appropriately to changes in behaviour or wellbeing.
This is a hands on role that requires patience, resilience and a calm approach, supporting both the physical and emotional needs of residents while ensuring care is delivered safely and consistently at all times.
What We Are Looking For
A caring, compassionate and respectful approach Good communication and teamwork skills A calm, patient and resilient attitude Willingness to learn and develop within a complex care environment Previous experience in care or mental health is beneficial but not essential NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willingness to obtain
