Unlike domiciliary care where you travel from house to house, this role is based entirely on-site at Fred Millard Court! Set in the heart of Bedwell, Stevenage, Fred Millard Court is a beautiful Flexicare community of 50 flats and bungalows for residents aged 60 and over. It is a vibrant, supportive environment featuring a sun terrace, resident lounges, a hairdressing salon, and a daily lunch club. As part of our on-site care team, you will support residents to maintain their independence within their own flats, while being part of a close-knit, lively community. 📍 Work Location & Commute You will be based at a single location for your entire shift: Fred Millard Court, Bedwell, Stevenage Easy Access: Just a 0.25-mile walk from the town centre, with a bus stop only 100 yards away! 🚗 Free on-site parking is available for staff. (No driving licence is required for this role as there is no travel between clients!) 💷 Competitive Pay We believe great work deserves great pay. You will be paid at the following tiered rates: 💰 Weekdays (Mon-Fri): £13.15 per hour 💰 Saturdays: £13.55 per hour 💰 Sundays: £13.55 per hour ⏰ Shift Patterns & Contract Security We are currently looking for dedicated individuals to cover specific shift patterns across the scheme, including mandatory weekend work. Early Shifts: 07:00 AM – 3:00 PM (0700 - 1500) Late Shifts: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM (1500 - 2200) (Please note: Due to the specific personal care needs of our current residents at Fred Millard Court, we are specifically seeking female applicants for these vacancies. This is an occupational requirement exempt under the Equality Act 2010).

Job Description

💙 What You’ll Be Doing As an Extra Care Professional, you’ll deliver high-quality, person-centred support that prioritises dignity, respect, and compassion. ✨ Your key responsibilities include:

  • Personal care (bathing, dressing, managing incontinence, toileting, and grooming within the residents' flats or the assisted bathing facility)
  • Medication support (providing reminders and safe administration)
  • Nutrition & Socialising (assisting with breakfast/dinner, and supporting the daily lunch clubs and coffee mornings!)
  • Mobility and equipment support (getting around safely, transfers, and using mobility aids)
  • Light Housekeeping (making/changing beds, laundry, and light cleaning)
  • Companionship and emotional support (providing a listening ear and engaging in scheme activities)

✨ You’ll also:

  • Encourage social engagement in the communal lounges and gardens
  • Monitor health, utilize the Careline alarm service when needed, and report changes to management
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
  • Respond to on-site emergencies safely and effectively

Qualifications
