What You’ll Be Doing

As our Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through:

  • Ensuring the highest standards of care by assisting residents with:
    • Daily personal care (e.g., washing, toileting, dressing, undressing)
    • All aspects of daily living
  • Providing emotional and spiritual support, ensuring residents remain comfortable and dignity is maintained.
  • Offering specialised assistance to residents with:
    • Limited mobility
    • Physical or learning difficulties (using aids appropriately)
    • Confusion or behavioural challenges
  • Supporting continence promotion and end-of-life care (including assisting with last offices).
  • Complying with care planning by recording daily activities and following company policies and procedures.
  • Engaging residents in social activities, hobbies, and communication to foster meaningful connections.
  • Responding to nurse call systems, greeting visitors, and managing telephone communications professionally.
  • Reporting on residents’ wellbeing under senior staff supervision and conducting scheduled safety checks.
  • Welcoming visitors, providing refreshments/assistance, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
  • Ensuring cleanliness by:
    • Making and changing beds
    • Emptying commodes in line with waste disposal policies
    • Cleaning and maintaining residential equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles)
    • Keeping the home tidy and well-presented
  • Recording resident engagement and feedback to ensure personalised support.
