Care Assistant - Swann House, Saxmundham

Salary: £20,007.19 per annum

(FTE £25,342.44 per annum)

Hours: 30 per week

Shifts: 07:00am-14:30pm and 14:30pm-22:00pm

About Swann House

Swann House is an Extra Care service situated in the market town of Saxmundham, in the heart of Suffolk's Heritage Coast region. The service is set on a quiet residential road and is less than half a mile from the town centre, which offers a good range of amenities including shops, cafés, public houses and a GP surgery.

Saxmundham also benefits from excellent transport links, with a bus stop approximately 200 yards from the service and regular local bus routes connecting the town with Leiston, Aldeburgh and surrounding villages.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide support with daily living, including personal care, mobility, social activities, mealtimes and medication.
  • Build positive, person-centred relationships and offer emotional support.
  • Use clear communication, listening and observation skills, including recording and reporting in care plans.
  • Support people with a range of health needs, including dementia, mental health conditions and end-of-life care.
  • Maintain an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and act appropriately.
  • Contribute to person-centred care planning focused on individual needs rather than tasks.

Person Specification

  • Care Certificate is desirable.
  • QCF Level 2 in Health and Social care or equivalent, is desirable.
  • Full driving licence is desirable.
