Care Assistant - The Woodlands Supported Living Unit
Kidderminster
The Service
The Woodlands is a Supported Living Service consisting of 10 individual flats. Individuals hold their own tenancy with Wyre Forest Community Housing. The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
We provide care and support to people in their own homes to enable them to live as independently as possible both at home, out and about in the community. The unit has a Registered Manager, Team Leader and a Core staff team, who remain committed and motivated to making a difference. The level of support required by each individual is guided by them, their Personal Assessment and support plans. The support provided ranges from assistance with personal care, cooking, shopping, attending social events, building social networks/friendships and relationships, fitness/ healthy lifestyles, appointments, budgeting and support to manage their homes, just to name a few, whilst remaining person centred allowing flexibility and choice. We are a transitional service with good working partnerships within the community. Our goal is to support tenants until they can live as independent as possible.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
