Location: St Georges Nursing Home – An Allegra Care Home

Salary: £13.20 per hour | Hours: 36 hours per week

Important: Sponsorship is not available for this role. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.

The Role: Care Companion

We are seeking an experienced Care Assistant to join our tight-knit team at St Georges Nursing Home. This role is unique—we call our Care Assistants "Care Companions" because companionship, connection, and trust are at the core of what we do.

You will work 36 hours per week on day shifts, delivering outstanding residential care within a supportive, family-focused environment.

Shifts & Work-Life Balance

  • Day or night shifts available
  • Typical shifts:
    • 8am–2pm
    • 2pm–8pm
    • 8am–8pm (long day)
    • Night shift: 8pm–8am
  • Alternate weekends to promote a healthy work-life balance
  • Flexibility: Preference for those who can work either days or nights (flexibility can be discussed at interview)

Your Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality, person-centred care
  • Building trusting, supportive relationships with residents
  • Ensuring residents’ dignity, comfort, and independence are always prioritised
  • Providing compassionate and respectful care in a family-like atmosphere
  • Assisting with daily personal care, mobility, and activities of daily living
  • Contributing to a positive, vibrant team culture

About You

We’re looking for a compassionate and driven individual with:

  • Relevant experience in residential care
  • A commitment to person-centred care principles
  • Kindness, empathy, and respect for others
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
  • Comfort with basic IT systems (e.g., care records, schedules)
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
