Care at Home Worker

**Care at Home Worker – Glen Iosal, Isle of Mull

Location: Breadalbane Street, Tobermory, Isle of Mull, PA75 6PX Hourly Rate: £14.04 per hour Hourly Schedule: Mixture of weekdays and weekends (7am–10pm, 7 days a week) Contract Type: Permanent / Part Time Application Closes: 12 noon, Tuesday 14th July 2026

About the Role

Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Care at Home Worker to join our team at Glen Iosal, providing vital domiciliary support to older and vulnerable adults in the Tobermory and Isle of Mull community.

Your passion, empathy, and dedication will transform the daily lives of our residents, helping them live with confidence and dignity. This is a ** frontend opportunity** for those passionate about social care—prior experience is preferred but welcome to those looking to embark on a rewarding career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit tenants daily across weekdays and weekends under a rota system
  • Provide personal care and support, including bathing, toileting, and dressing
  • Assist with medication administration (as outlined in care plans)
  • Support with housekeeping tasks, such as meal prep, laundry, and domestic maintenance
  • Facilitate meaningful interaction, companionship, and priel care (interests, hobbies, conversation)
  • Work flexibly to ensure each resident receives care aligned with their unique needs and preferences

Requirements

  • Preference (but not essential): Experience within care, elderly assistance, or supporting vulnerable groups
  • Must hold (or agree to study for) an SVQ (Scottish Vocational Qualification) in Health and Social Care or equivalent national qualification
  • SSSC registration strongly encouraged; assistance included if unavailable
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Basic IT proficiency
  • Legal right to work in the UK (sponsorship unavailable for international applicants)
