Care Team Leader – Chester Retirement Village
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Care Team Leader to join an exceptional retirement village in the Chester area, working with one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.
The retirement village provides the ideal balance between independence and community, offering residents privacy and freedom of their own space while enjoying a welcoming and supportive environment.
Requirements
To be considered, candidates must hold:
- An NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care
Additionally, applicants should have experience in:
- Care-related settings
- People management (e.g., leading shifts or deputising for a manager)
- Medication administration
Key Responsibilities
The Care Team Leader will:
- Lead, supervise, and support care, wellbeing, and administrative staff to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality care is delivered
- Provide engaging leadership aligned with MHA policies, procedures, and statutory requirements
- Assist residents with personal care, offer health supervision, and provide direct care when necessary
- Uphold and protect residents’ rights to dignity, privacy, and choice
- Support the Care Manager in fulfilling Responsible Person duties, including record-keeping and medicines management
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and reviews are up-to-date and compliant
- Oversee safe medicine management, observations, and competency assessments
- Foster education, leisure, and social activities to enhance residents’ quality of life
- Conduct one-to-one supervision, appraisals, and staff training to meet development needs -Support recruitment, selection, and induction of staff to improve care continuity and reduce agency reliance

Ideal Qualities & Skills
While not strictly requirements, the following will be highly valued:
- People management experience (confidence in delegating, motivating teams)
- Medication administration knowledge (practical experience preferred)
- Strong literacy and IT literacy (familiarity with Microsoft Office tools)
- Leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Experience in dementia care or supporting older adults with physical/emotional needs
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads, and work flexibly

The Care Team Leader role offers:
- Hourly rate: GBP £17.29
- Fixed-term contract (12 months) – 32 hours per week
