The Role
Who Are We Looking For?
This opportunity is perfect for young people with care experience looking to contribute meaningfully to recruiting future child protection social workers. To qualify as a Care Experienced Assessor (CEA), you must:
- Be ages 18 or over
- Provide proof of your right to work in the UK (e.g., a UK passport)
What You’ll Do
- Assess candidates applying for our Approach Social Work programme (formerly Frontline)
- Conduct interviews to evaluate candidates’ motivation, skills, and career experiences
- Join a larger assessment team working to select the best candidates for positions helping children, families, and young people
- Offer candid feedback on candidate performance

You’ll work at online assessment centres and will be paid £122 per full day (or £61 per half day). All CEAs will be placed on Frontline’s payroll, paid monthly for their assessments.

Location and Commitments
Assessment Centre Formatting
- Format: Online via video conferencing. A laptop/PC with stable internet is required.
- Location specifics: A private, quiet space is mandatory, as assessments are confidential.
Training Commitments
A mandatory virtual training session is required before commencing assessments:
- dates: Thursday 1 October or Wednesday 14 October (select one only)
- Payment is provided for attendance

When Will You Start?
- Scheduled assessment period: October 2026 – May 2027
- Rota availability: CEAs will only be expected to attend particular weeks, tailored to your schedule
- Shift hours:
- Mandatory: 8:45 am – 6:00 pm (standard full shifts)
- Optional: Berlin discussions may occur beyond shift-times. Exact timings confirmed closer to start
We encourage commitment to full shifts, but adjustments can be made (e.g., half-days, flexible scheduling) by discussing availability with Frontline during planning.
