About the Role
As a Care & Repair Administrative Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service. You'll be a key point of contact for customers, colleagues, contractors and partner organisations, providing professional administrative and secretarial support across the team.
The role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting meetings, processing work orders and invoices, managing information systems and responding to enquiries from members of the public. You'll work closely with colleagues across the service to help deliver an efficient and responsive experience for older people who rely on our support.
Skills and Experience Needed
We're looking for someone with previous experience in an office or administrative environment and confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
You will have strong organisational skills, excellent literacy and numeracy, and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people both verbally and in writing.
You'll be able to manage your workload, work to deadlines and use your initiative while also contributing positively as part of a team. An understanding of the needs of older people and a commitment to providing excellent customer service are essential. You'll also hold GCSE-level education (or equivalent) or a relevant business administration qualification.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
