Children Panel Accredited Solicitor – Care
Manchester | Liverpool | Lancashire | Hybrid Working
A leading national law firm is expanding its highly regarded Care team across the North West and is seeking a Children Panel Accredited Solicitor to join the practice.
With established offices in Merseyside and Lancashire, the firm is launching a brand-new Manchester office, creating an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in growing the team. Equally, the firm is happy to consider candidates who would prefer to be based in Liverpool or Lancashire.
The Role
You'll handle a varied caseload of public law children matters, supported by one of the largest Care teams in the country. While the role is primarily Care-focused, there is flexibility for those who would like to undertake a broader mix of family work alongside their Care caseload. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solicitor looking to join a collaborative, supportive and well-resourced national team while enjoying the autonomy to develop their own practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
