Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone

Contract: Permanent – 40 Hours per week

Shifts: 12.0 – 12.5 hour shifts covering days and nights Monday – Sunday.

Salary: £26,436.80 per annum

Are you an experienced Health Care Assistant or Support Worker with a desire to provide exceptional patient care in a hospital setting? Would you like to develop your career your way?

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced healthcare assistant to join our surgical inpatients team. As a Care Support Worker, you will monitor patients’ conditions pre and post surgery, escalating to the nursing staff where necessary.

You will be a strong and motivated individual who is absolutely patient focused, with a desire and proven ability to deliver healthcare at its best.

This role is suitable for anyone has previously worked in a health care environment as a Care Support Worker, Health Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker, Imaging Assistant or Nursing Assistant. Experience in a hospital environment is advantageous but not essential.

Role Responsibilities

As a Care Support Worker you will:

  • Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions
  • Monitor patient’s observations in line with national standards throughout a patient admission
  • Chaperone patients when required
  • Willing to undertake phlebotomy when appropriately trained
  • Ensure that your own professional development is maintained and enhanced

Essential

What we are looking for:

  • Have a good standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills
  • Have experience working in the Acute Care Setting as either a Care Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Clinical Support Worker
  • Have proven communication skills
  • Demonstrate basic IT skills

Desirable

  • Hold and NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Have experience working as a Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker or Care Support Worker in a hospital healthcare setting
  • Have experience undertaking ECG’s
  • Have Phlebotomy experience
