Care Team Leader

EveryDay – Team Leader (Social Care & Dementia Care)

EveryDay, a social enterprise wholly owned by Age UK North Tyneside, is recruiting a Team Leader to support sites across Newcastle and North Tyneside, including:

  • Cross Gates
  • Havelock Place
  • Hodgson House
  • Linskill Park
  • Weetslade Court

The role may also offer hybrid working as a Personal Support Assistant (PSA).


About the Role

This key team leadership position ensures consistently high-quality care by effectively managing teams and supporting individuals to live independently, maintain social connections, and meet personal care needs.

The Job Summary:

  • Work in partnership with an Area Manager & Coordinator to deliver flexible, recovery-focused support tailored to individual plans.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and dignity while meeting legislative, contractual, and service standards.
  • Supervise and motivate a team of PSAs, ensuring high-quality care aligned with agency goals and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate your team of Personal Support Assistants to deliver high-quality care and support across multiple sites.
  • Ensure continuity of service by maintaining high standards in individualised care plans while adhering to Age UK North Tyneside values.
  • Work alongside the Area Manager & Coordinator to align care delivery with service aspirations, contractual obligations, and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor and support team performance to meet practical, ethical, and compliance standards.
  • Adapt to individual needs and promote inclusion, independence, and dignity in all interventions.
  • Upskill and mentor team members where applicable to achieve shared goals.
  • Assist with ongoing legal compliance such as Health and Social Care Act 2010, safeguarding, and health & safety protocols.

Salary & Hours

  • £25,334 - £26,981 per annum
  • Work schedule: Sunday to Thursday (standard care sector hours).

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Training or accreditation in Dementia Care (e.g., Dementia Awareness Certificate, Level 2 Dementia Care).
  • Proven experience in leadership and team supervision within health and social care.
  • Expertise in person-centred approaches and working with vulnerable groups.

Minimum Requirements

  • Health and Social Care Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Clear understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2010.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement frameworks and best practices for care delivery.
  • A health & safety certificate is strongly preferred.
