Our work is guided by five core values – Care, Compassion, Community, Integrity and Excellence – and we are proud of the difference our teams make every day in the lives of residents, colleagues and local communities.
We are now looking for a dedicated Care Team Leader to join our team at Abbeyfield House.
Role: Care Team Leader (Senior Care Assistant)
Location: Abbeyfield House, California Road, New Malden, KT3 3RL.
Pay: £15.11 p/h - £15.57 p/h
Hours: 36.75 hours per week.
Shifts: 8am-8pm, plus an additional 15 minutes for handover each shift. x3 shifts per week, including alternate weekend shifts.
The Role of Care Team Leader
Our Care Team Leaders sit at the heart of what we do. As the recognised Senior Carer on a shift, you'll have overall responsibility for regular monitoring of the health, care and social needs of our residents. Preparation, implementation and review of their personal care plans, including the administering of medication. You'll supervise, support coach and develop other team members, and liaise with people involved in resident's care, as well as with the residents themselves. Put simply, you'll ensure residents' needs and wishes are at the centre of the care we provide. As the Senior Carer on that shift, you will take the lead when staff or residents need help, such as in the event of an emergency.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
