Choices Homecare is seeking compassionate Domiciliary Care Workers for our locations across the Oldham region.

About Choices Homecare

Choices Homecare is proudly part of the Optimo Care Group that supports service users across the UK with over 1,500 dedicated employees and a strong presence across multiple regions. We collaborate closely with local authorities, healthcare providers, and care professionals to deliver outcome-focused care.

Working Hours

Our service provides care seven days a week between 7:00am and 10:00pm. We welcome applications from candidates seeking both full-time and part-time hours. Our Oldham service is predominantly looking for individuals available between 3:00pm and 10:00pm, Monday to Friday, and for full-day shifts at weekends. Please indicate your preferred working days and hours on the pre-screen application form. We’re particularly looking to cover regular Sundays (Mornings/ Full Days).

We’re proud to offer flexible zero-hour contracts where you can choose to work as many hours as you’d like.

Please note: this role is paid for care delivery time only, with mileage between calls reimbursed at 30p per mile. This is not a block pay position

Key Responsibilities of a Care Worker

  • Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans.
  • Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required.
  • Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks.
  • Building positive relationships with individuals and their families.
  • Supporting emotional well-being and recognizing signs of distress or changes in behavior.
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home.
  • Respecting confidentiality and always maintaining professional boundaries.

What You’ll Need

  • A caring, compassionate approach.
  • A commitment to putting people first.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience preferred but not essential - full training provided.
  • UK Driving license and own vehicle is essential within certain routes/locations (We pay 30p per mile fuel allowance)
  • Alternative weekend availability
