Choices Homecare – Domiciliary Care Worker (Wakefield Region)
Choices Homecare are seeking compassionate Domiciliary Care Workers for our locations across the Wakefield region.

Choices Homecare is proudly part of the Optimo Care Group, delivering outcome-focused care across the UK. With over 1,500 dedicated employees, we collaborate closely with local authorities, healthcare providers, and care professionals.
Working Hours & Availability
We provide 24/7 care (07:00–22:00), with a strong focus on evening and weekend shifts (16:00–22:00 Monday–Sunday).
Flexibility is key: you’ll agree a preferred 2-week rolling rota, allowing you to choose your days. We offer zero-hour contracts—work the hours you want.
Note: This role is paid only for care delivery (not blocked hours). Reimbursement: 30p per mile for travel.

Location: Wakefield
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
- Medication administration and documentation
- Preparing meals and supporting eating/drinking where needed
- Encouraging independence and daily activity participation
- Building trusting relationships with clients and their families
- Promoting emotional well-being and recognising distress/behavioural changes
- Maintaining accurate records & communication with colleagues
- Ensuring a clean, safe, comfortable home environment
- Strict adherence to confidentiality and professional boundaries
Requirements & Qualifications
To apply, you will need:
- A genuine desire to care and empathy
- A commitment to putting individual needs first
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- UK driving licence + own vehicle (for assigned routes)
- Business-use insurance on personal car (usually a minor policy addition)
- For Saturday/Sunday shifts: alternative weekday availability
- (Whilst experience is helpful, we provide full training for all new staff.)
