Care Worker
The role
We are looking for a passionate Care Worker to join Southern Housing!
As a Care Worker you will work as part of the team providing person-centred care & support to residents living at Byrnhill Grove, our Registered Care Home in Ventnor.
You'll be flexible to respond to their individual needs, assisting them with intimate personal care when required and ensuring their environment is safe and secure, following health and safety requirements and carrying out care plans and risk assessments. You must be physically able to undertake manual handling and you will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Services check.
This is a part-time/permanent role working 16 hours per week.
You will be based at our Byrnhill Grove scheme, Ventnor, Isle of Wight.
What you'll be doing
- Provide care to residents and people who use our services, as identified in their person-centred care plan. This may include some intimate personal care.
- Deliver care in a way which promotes independence, rights, choices, and inclusion in the community.
- Summon professional assistance in the case of an emergency.
- Practice within the criteria set out in the Care Quality Commission standards ensuring residents have an up-to-date care plan and risk assessment which reflects their individual needs and wishes.

What you'll need
- Hold 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above (or equivalent Grade 9-5) inc Maths & English
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Health & safety awareness
- Able to work as part of a team
- Understanding of the requirements of CQC
- Willingness to learn new skills
