About The Role
Located within the Employability Services team at Chelmsford, this role is critical in empowering students and graduates to achieve their career goals. As a primary point of contact, you will:
- Provide welcoming, professional care to students and graduates, offering tailored employability support (CV/cover letter reviews, interview preparation, job search strategies).
- Assist students in accessing opportunities, including through ARU Temps.
- Work with Careers Consultants and colleagues to plan and deliver:
- Careers fairs
- Employer events
- Workshops & employability initiatives
- Create and manage engaging digital/social media content to promote ARU’s employability services.
- Maintain minimum 80% campus presence for in-person student engagement.
Key responsibilities include: ✔ Ensuring students and graduates have access to high-quality employability services. ✔ Collaborating across teams to align services with student needs. ✔ Promoting employability initiatives through digital channels. ✔ Monitoring and improving service quality and student engagement metrics.

Requirements
Essential
- A degree, relevant professional qualification at degree level, or equivalent experience (with evidence of continuing professional development).
- Proven experience in a student support, recruitment, employability, or similar role, demonstrating:
- Strong communication & customer service skills (working with diverse stakeholders).
- Experience in coordinating events, workshops, or activities.
- Ability to deliver engaging digital content (social media, promotional materials).
- Comfort in managing competing priorities and maintaining accurate records (e.g., databases, digital systems).
- Understand of graduate career progression and student/graduate challenges.
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, online platforms, databases).
Desirable
- Qualifications in career guidance, employment support, or related fields (e.g., CIPD, ECPD).
- Experience in university employers, job centres, or NUS Careers cluster environments.
- Social media management or content creation experience (platforms: Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Knowledge of employment law, ethics, and safeguarding in a student-facing role.
