Role Summary

Kick-start your career with Somerset Council as a Business Administration Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience while working towards a recognised qualification. You'll support a busy team with a variety of administrative tasks, develop essential business and customer service skills, and receive on-the-job training from experienced colleagues.

What You’ll Do - Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the work of the Careers and Pathways team; including the Somerset Careers Hub, Somerset Education Business Partnership and Supported Employment Team.
  • Taking a key role in the data input and analysis of the destination data of the young people of Somerset.
  • Supporting general administration tasks; such as social media management and event support.
  • Complete tasks in line with occupational standards to ensure completion of the Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.
  • Supporting administration in major projects across the Careers and Pathways team.

What We’re Looking For – Knowledge, Experience & Skills

  • Maths and English GCSE C/4 or above – Preferable.
  • Good ICT and Digital Skills – Experience of using Microsoft Office suite or products.
  • Good Data input and analysis skills.
  • Experience using Social Media tools
  • Good Organisational skills with attention to detail.

Additional Information

  • Fixed Term Contract for 24 Months, 37 Hours a week.
  • Hybrid Working, with opportunities to work from home, County Hall, Taunton and Broughton House.
  • Completion of Level 3 Business Administration – Training provider to be decided.
  • 25 day’s annual leave (additional to bank holidays)
  • Regretfully, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. We are only able to proceed with candidates who already have the right to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship
