Location: Fenton Industrial Estate, Stoke-On-Trent (Covering ST & CW Postal Codes) Salary: £26,442 - £27,833 per year (rising to £27,833 after 12 months, subject to performance) Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role
We are seeking two Caretakers to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent, delivering an effective estate maintenance service to meet customer and organisational needs.
You will operate within a multi-trade team, conducting tasks such as:
- Travelling to and managing void properties
- Final cleaning post-maintenance work
- Removing builders’ waste
- Conducting environmental deep cleans before maintenance begins
- Clearing furnishings and debris
This role falls under Property Services, which is responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality, cost-effective property repairs, compliance, installation, and estate services across the UK
- Ensuring operational Health and Safety (including fire safety)
- Managing wide-ranging asset management and reinvestment programmes

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive estate maintenance, including caretaking, cleaning, basic repairs, and grounds maintenance
- Deliver accurate, timely updates to customers, reporting work progress and maintaining clear daily records
- Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards and report issues, supporting safe environments and planned maintenance
- Ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained per policies and regulations, promptly reporting defects or misuse
- Manage inventory, supplies, and supplies storage in line with health and safety guidelines
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers, addressing complaints and service issues professionally
- Produce regular health and safety reports for senior management and track building maintenance
Essential Skills & Experience
- Numeracy and literacy proficiency demonstrated at a competent level
- Relevant experience in caretaking or similar roles
- Practical risk assessment experience
- Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) guidelines
- Basic written instruction compliance and record-keeping skills
- Awareness of Health and Safety legislation
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence (driving on company business is required)
