Aneurin Leisure Trust are looking for a reliable and motivated caretaker to join our team, undertaking the general security and cleaning duties of the building to ensure that all areas are kept clean and safe for the occupying staff, visitors and members of the public.
About The Role
As Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security, and upkeep of the Learning Centre. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our facilities are safe, compliant, and fully operational to support teaching and learning activities.
Key Responsibilities
- To act as keyholder.
- Take delivery of equipment/materials.
- Ensure safe usage of centre equipment.
- Move furniture and equipment as required.
- Assist students, staff and centre users to ensure the smooth running of the centre
- Set up IT equipment for centre users and tutors
- To set out accommodation for groups
- Identify and inform the site manager of any maintenance requirements
- Carry out general maintenance duties, such as basic repairs and painting
- Carry out routine health and safety checks and duties
- Identify and inform the site manager of any safety hazards or necessary repairs
- Respond to out of hours call outs
- Operate a rota with other caretakers to cover daytime/evening centre usage as necessary if applicable
- Liaise with other caretakers on all matters relating to the running of the centre
- To be available to cover annual leave and sickness, which may be at short notice
- Comply with the relevant sections of the Trust’s policy statement on Health, Safety and Welfare at Work.
- Adhere to the principles of the Corporate Equality Policy and ensure commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.
- Undertake any other duties required by management.
